Volleyball - Girls Varsity

This past Saturday was the first tournament for the Lady Jay's volleyball team.  The Jays started off a little slow but after getting the jitters out they played some great volleyball.  Our first match was against Western Mennonite, the tournaments defending champions. We fell short of a win but were able to come back to split the next game against Colton.  As pool play ended against Alsea, the Lady Jay's where starting to hit their stride.  The team faced off against Faith Bible in the first round of tournament play.  Against the Falcon’s the Jays played extremely well.  Coach Kendra Maas commented, “I was so pleased to see them pick up hard hits, tips and side outs right away.”  The Lady Jay's made Faith Bible work very hard for their victory. Overall Coach Maas was very pleased on the Lady Jay's performance and now the team knows they can fine tune a few things and give other teams a run for their money as league play continues.
